| Upcoming National e-Content development training workshop for Science and Engineering Faculties, Kumasi, Ghana, April 4th – 10th 2005
Background
As a follow-up to the workshop in Kigali, this Kumasi workshop is tailored for Science and Engineering Lecturers and Professors from technical Universities in Ghana and the University of Sierra Leone. This is being done with the conviction that staff should be encouraged and supported in this promising mode of content development and delivery.
Objectives
The objective of this initiative is not only to develop human capacity in e-content development for teaching Science and Engineering Subjects but also to take advantage of the existing experts who will be engaged in developing high quality courses using cost-effective means.
Training Duration and Program
The duration of the training will be five days (April 4th – 10th 2005). Participants will be inducted into the process of content development through handouts and other relevant training materials.
Target Audience and selection of participants
The training targets interested academicians and practicing professionals in the areas of Basic and Engineering Sciences. The participants should be willing to put into practice the knowledge acquired in their various institutions.
The participants shall be drawn from Science and Engineering faculties of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Technical Education Unit of University College of Education Winneba, and University of Sierra Leone. They will be expected to come to the training with their teaching notes in electronic formats.
Venue and Facilities
The venue of the training is the ICT Center of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The ICT Centre has over 200 computers and Internet connectivity.

Expected Outcomes
The participants will be expected to have the necessary skills in e-content development to enable them develop e-content in their areas of expertise. Their e-contents will be burned onto CDs.
